Campaign X-Frame Bench, Saddle Leather & Iron Faux Bamboo

A sling of saddle leather stretches across this campaign X-frame bench, between two iron supports - the folding-stool geometry that campaign furniture makers packed into officers' luggage through the 19th century. The iron is cast as faux bamboo, ringed at the joints, so the utilitarian form arrives with some polish on it.

The leather seat hangs at 21 inches on a 26 by 18 inch frame - bench by name, though it works as often at the foot of a bed, in an entry, or as a pull-up seat that stows flat against a wall. The sling will slacken slightly and darken where it is sat, as saddle leather should.

Campaign pieces mix easily; the leather warms modern rooms and the iron sharpens traditional ones.
