Two slab ends, a top, and a stretcher make up this blond pine trestle side table - the same construction as a farmhouse table, shrunk to sit beside a chair. The pine is left close to its natural color, pale and honeyed, under a clear finish that lets the knots speak.

Twenty inches square and 24 inches high, with a solid core beneath clean pine veneer, it is sturdy without being a chore to move. The light finish keeps it easy in rooms that run airy - beach houses, cabins, bright apartments.
