The Workshop

Period Craft, Made to Your Specifications

We are the only company in America offering this level of period craftsmanship. Working closely with our London-based workshop, we reproduce 18th and 19th century English furniture using authentic techniques: hand carving, traditional joinery, water-gilding, and hand-finished surfaces.

Every piece can be customized. Need an overmantle mirror to fit a specific opening? A console table in a non-standard width? A giltwood frame in a custom finish? We build to your dimensions.

Hand-carved Queen Anne mirror in refined setting
Every detail is carved by hand. Every surface finished by eye. This is how English furniture was made 300 years ago, and it's how we still make it today.

Hand carving. Traditional joinery. Water-gilding with genuine gold leaf. These aren't shortcuts or approximations. They're the same techniques used by the original Georgian craftsmen.

The result is furniture that belongs alongside actual period antiques, because it's built the same way.

Common Questions

Bespoke Reproductions FAQ

How much do custom reproductions cost?
Pricing varies by piece, complexity, materials, and finish. We provide a detailed quote after discussing your requirements. There is no obligation and no charge for a quote.
Can you reproduce a piece from a photograph?
In most cases, yes. Send us a photograph and approximate dimensions and we can evaluate whether we can reproduce it. We've recreated pieces from museum catalogs, auction records, and client photographs.
What is the lead time?
Most bespoke pieces take 12 to 16 weeks depending on complexity. Mirrors and simpler pieces may be faster. We confirm the timeline before you commit.
Can I get a custom-sized mirror to fit a specific space?
This is one of our most popular requests. Send us the dimensions and the style you like, and we'll quote it. Overmantle mirrors, pier glasses, and tight-fitting mirrors for specific architectural openings are all possible.
What finishes are available?
Water-gilding (gold or silver leaf), oil gilding, lacquer, painted finishes, and natural wood stains. We can also match existing finishes in your home.
Is shipping included?
Shipping from our London workshop to the US is arranged by us. The cost depends on the size and weight of the piece and is quoted separately.
