Description

Crossed legs at either end give this campaign X-frame writing desk its stance, borrowed from officers' furniture that was built to break down and travel. Between the supports, the top stays clean and the storage stays honest - three shallow drawers, nothing more.

The wood is reclaimed fir under a stone grey finish, antiqued so the old grain shows through the color instead of hiding beneath it. At 51 by 22 inches the surface takes a laptop, a lamp, and an open notebook without crowding, and 32 inches of height suits any standard chair.

It earns its keep in a home office, but the grey is quiet enough for a bedroom wall or a landing that needs a writing spot.
