These Cantilever Dining Chairs stand on a tubular steel frame that carries the seat forward with no rear legs beneath it. Canvas is stretched taut across that frame to form both the seat and the back, so what comfort there is comes from the flex of the steel and the give of the fabric rather than from padding. Nothing is added beyond the two materials, and the frame stays visible from every angle.

The frame measures 20 inches wide and 24 inches deep and stands 34 inches high, a compact footprint that tucks close to a table and leaves a narrow room walkable. The 24 inch depth gives a full seat without pushing the chair out into the traffic path behind. Six will fit around a standard rectangular table with room to push back and stand.

Steel and canvas suit rooms that are already plain: a loft kitchen, a garden room, a study with a plank floor. They sit comfortably beside a timber table or a metal-based one, and the open frame reads graphic against pale walls. Use them around a breakfast table, or bring a pair in as extra seating that can be moved without effort when the room fills up.
