Rows of fans in low relief cover all four door fronts of this carved scallop sideboard, each scallop caught so the surface shifts with the light from morning to evening. The carving runs edge to edge - no flat borders - which gives the case the texture of woven straw at a distance and reveals the carving up close.
The wood takes the tan finish evenly, warm without going orange. Behind the doors, two shelves divide 79 inches of enclosed storage into practical bays for table linens, servingware, or media equipment, all at a usable 19-inch depth.
