Saber legs sweep outward at the front and the back of these Klismos Dining Chairs, the ancient Greek stance that makes the form recognizable at a glance. The frame is painted white, which flattens the grain and leaves the curves to do all the work, while the back rail bows gently to meet the shoulders. Cream upholstery covers the seat, a soft neutral that keeps the chair looking light rather than graphic.

Each chair is 21.5 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 37 inches high. The shallow depth is the useful part, since the chairs tuck close to the table and leave a walkway clear behind a full house, which matters in a narrow dining room. The height carries the curved back rail well above the tabletop, so the shape stays visible even when every chair is pushed in.

White paint and cream fabric make these easy to place - a dining room with pale walls, a marble or glass table, a coastal room where everything has been bleached back.
