Seen from the side, these Klismos Dining Chairs are one continuous curve, the back rail rolling down into swept saber legs without a break anywhere along the line. The black finish reduces the whole chair to that silhouette, which is what the klismos form was always about. The seat is upholstered in a soft cream that sits bright inside the dark outline rather than competing with it.

The frame is 21.5 inches wide but only 20 inches deep, a trim footprint that lets you seat more chairs along a table and slide them fully under the apron between meals. That shallow depth also makes them workable in a tight dining room where a deeper chair blocks the path behind. Six will ring a round table without the backs touching one another.

Klismos chairs belong with anything neoclassical, but the black frame holds up just as well beside a plain oak trestle or a marble-topped pedestal table. Set them against a papered wall or a run of pale plaster and the curve of the leg reads clearly. They work as dining seating, as a pair flanking a console, or singly at a writing desk in a bedroom.
