Description
The waisted apron is the tell on this Ming style square coffee table - a narrow recess just under the top that Ming cabinetmakers used to make a heavy table sit lightly. Here it runs the full perimeter of the square, ending in low chow legs that curl inward at the floor.
Reclaimed pine carries the form under a warm tan finish that lets the old grain show through. The top measures 57 inches on a side at 18 inches high - room enough for books, a tray of drinks, and a board game going at the same time.
A square this generous wants a deep sectional wrapped around it, or a pair of facing sofas in a living room with floor to spare. Give it three open feet on every side and let the legs do the talking.
