Straight, level arms run from back to front on this track-arm club chair, squaring off a profile that skips the rolled-arm conventions of the type. Brass nailheads follow the frame lines in a single tight row, the one traditional flourish on an otherwise modern profile.

The upholstery is rich Cuba brown leather over a generous 34 by 36 inch footprint, with a back height of 36 inches that supports without towering. Cushions are cut deep enough for long sitting - this is a reading chair as much as a conversation chair, and it holds its shape in pairs.

The leather will pick up a soft sheen at the arms first. Put it near walnut, iron, or a leather sofa a shade different - close matches fight, near misses flatter.
