Description
The Transitional 81-Inch Dining Table with Porcelain Calacatta Top and Turned Trestle Base brings together two design eras at one table. A long rectangular porcelain slab in a Calacatta pattern floats above a pair of turned baluster pedestals, while broad plinth feet and a low stretcher anchor the whole composition.
The contrast of clean stone-look surface and classically shaped base gives it presence without heaviness. The top is porcelain in a Calacatta gloss finish, soft ivory ground washed with diffuse grey veining and a few cloudier streaks across the surface.
The base is built from poplar and finished in a muted grey paint with a quiet sheen, with faint wood grain reading through the painted surface on the turned sections and feet. This one suits a transitional dining room that wants a piece with character on both halves. Pair it with upholstered linen or leather side chairs, a pair of host armchairs at the ends, and a long pendant or row of shaded fixtures overhead. Wipe the porcelain top with a soft damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner, drying promptly to avoid streaks. Dust the painted poplar base with a soft dry cloth and address spills quickly with a barely damp cloth.
